Following the coastline and borders of England,
one place at a time.
What this is
Englands Edge is a multi-year project to explore England by following its edges — the coastline and borderlands — and building up a picture of the country through travel, place, and experience.
Rather than rushing, the approach is simple: stay a few days in each location, walk, observe, experience, understand and move on.
The journey
- Hundreds of nights across England
- Eight connected journey phases
- Coasts, borders, towns, cities and London
- Mainly by bus and train
Each stop connects to the next, gradually forming a wider view of England.
A slow observational journey, gradually building a wider portrait of England through place, movement and return.
What it becomes
Over time, this project will form:
- A series of books
- A collection of short travel videos
- A collection of curated Photos
- A long-form exploration of England as a place
For now, the focus is simply on the journey itself.
Current progress
Travel and writing are underway.
